Jasmine Poole to Receive One of Six Awards Granted Nationwide

New Orleans, LA (12/20/2018)— Jasmine Poole, a current Corpsmember of Limitless Vistas, Inc. will be recognized by The Corps Network, the National Association of Service and Conservation Corps, as a 2019 Corpsmember of the Year. The Corps Network presents the Corpsmember of the Year Award on an annual basis to six young adults chosen from among the 25,000+ individuals who serve in member organizations of The Corps Network every year. The Corpsmembers of the Year are young people who have

demonstrated personal growth, outstanding leadership skills, and a sincere commitment to national service. All winners of the Corpsmember of the Year Award are nominated by their Corps.

Ms. Jasmine Poole is from New Orleans and graduated from Warren Easton Charter High School in 2015. She has been a member of Limitless Vistas, Inc. since February 2017 and has served two terms as an AmeriCorps member and two terms as a GulfCorps crew member. As a Corpsmember, Ms. Poole is helping to protect local endangered red-cockaded woodpeckers in the Big Branch Marsh National Wildlife Refuge on the Northshore, rebuilding trails and boat launches at the Bayou Sauvage National Wildlife Refuge in New Orleans East, collecting water samples in the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve – Barataria Preserve, as well as helping with numerous other community service projects. Her leadership skills have grown tremendously and her knowledge in environmental and conservation work continues to increase

through the programs offered at Limitless Vistas, Inc.

Limitless Vistas, Inc. is one of more than 130 member organizations of The Corps Network. Corps are local, state or national programs that provide young adults and recent veterans the opportunity to serve their community, advance their education and obtain in-demand skills. Serving in crews or individual positions, Corpsmembers spend up to a year performing meaningful projects that address conservation and infrastructure concerns, wildfires and natural disasters, outdoor recreation access, and a range of other issues. Corpsmembers gain work experience through building trails, conducting prescribed burns, managing habitats, helping disaster-stricken communities, and performing various other service-oriented tasks.

The six Corpsmembers of the Year will be honored at a ceremony on February 13, 2019 on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC as part of The Corps Network’s 2019 National Conference, “Resilience.”
